Today, Teacher Namtan took the students to conduct an experiment, Ep.1 "How roots and stems work."
The experiment involved
color-changing lettuce to learn about
the functions of the roots and stems of
plants.
"The students observed the color change into the lettuce when it was soaked water that mixed with food coloring.Because the roots and stems of the plant contain many small tubes, including those that absorp water and minerals, lt’s called xylem and those that absorp food such as sugars and amino acids produced through photosynthesis, lt’s called phloem. Both types of tubes distribute water and nutrients to all parts of the plant for growth, This is the reason, the lettuce changes color according to the food coloring."
