Sunthorn Phu was a renowned poet with numerous acclaimed works, earning him the nickname "Shakespeare of Thailand." He was particularly skilled in poetry and adapted ancient verses, creating a distinctive style characterized by its melodious use of internal rhymes in every line. He also preferred using simple words to ensure clear understanding of the content by listeners and readers. Sunthorn Phu's narrative poems and travelogues have therefore remained widely popular to this day.
